Honorable Oppah Chamu Zvipange Muchinguri-Kashiri was appointed into Cabinet by the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe His Excellency Dr. ED Mnangagwa as the Minister of Defence and War Veterans Affairs in the Cabinet. The President, as the First Secretary for the ruling ZANU PF Party also appointed Honorable Muchinguri-Kashiri as the Party Chairman. Minister Muchinguri-Kashiri is a high ranking member of ZANU PF Manicaland Province, Central Committee member, Politburo member, former Governor and is amongst the surviving seasoned politicians, bureaucrat and female veterans of the liberation struggle. She also successfully and diligently served in various Cabinet portfolios as Minister:
During the Covid 19 pandemic outbreak, Hon Muchinguri-Kashiri was appointed by His Excellency the President Dr. ED Mnangagwa as Chairperson of the Inter-Ministerial Taskforce on the Covid-19 Outbreak to spearhead containing and fight against the deadly virus
