Zimbabwe is on track to attain a USD12 billion mining industry target by the year 2023. President Dr E.D. Mnangagwa has commissioned several mining projects since taking outh of office. The mining projects include exploration, extraction and expansion and additional projects have been planned and will soon be launched. Mining incentives have been established for investors and effective organizational syndication of Small to Medium Scale Miners has also been established. The Government have also availed mining technologies to increase capacity utilization. The President encouraged the mining industry to get involved in the local production of mining consumables to ease the continued importation of mining consumables and related accessories. The mining sector is critical to Zimbabwe’s development because it is the largest foreign currency earner.
