One of the key tasks in reviving Zimbabwe’s economic fortunes under the Second Republic is providing appropriate and adequate infrastructure to enable economic growth. His Excellency the President Dr. ED Mnangagwa has taken a lead role, as the First Citizen, in galvanizing the nation to implement various strategic national projects across sectors. To this end, blueprints were published and availed to guide sectors in implementing national priority projects from scratch up to the attainment of Vision 2030 when Zimbabwe becomes an upper middle income society achieving per capita income of US$4 500. The first blueprint was the Transitional Stabilization Programme (TSP 2018-2020) that laid the foundation stone towards addressing fundamentals in economic reforms and recovery. The TSP was succeeded by the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1) and will later be succeeded by NDS2. These two blueprints build on the successes of the TSP and outline programs and projects that are being implemented over a five-year period each (2021-2025/2026-2030). His Excellency the President Dr. ED Mnangagwa noted that in order to achieve the Zimbabwe we all want and need, maximum effort by everybody is required. In order for the nation to pull together, His Excellency the President Dr. ED Mnangagwa popularized philosophies that help galvanize the nation to appreciate that Vision 2030 can only be achieved by None but Ourselves.
